Pesto is a sauce originating in Genoa in Italy. It traditionally consists of crushed garlic, basil, and European pine nuts blended with olive oil, Parmigiano-Reggiano and Fiore Sardo.
It has an unique fresh and garlicy taste.
Pesto is commonly used on pasta. It is sometimes served with sliced beef tomatoes and sliced boiled potatoes.
